Joseph L. Trauth, Jr. is a Senior Consultant in the Government Affairs Solution Group of KMK Consulting. Joe has extensive experience in real estate development, zoning, and land use planning. Joe's clients include numerous national and regional companies and real estate developers.

Joe has a 25 year background in Governmental Relations and is actively involved in local, regional and national politics. In the early 1970s, Joe ran the local Congressional office for Congressman William J. Keating, of the First District of Ohio. He currently serves on the Republican Leadership Council as a Steering Committee member. He serves on the University of Cincinnati Real Estate Roundtable and has lectured on the topics of zoning and land use planning, and development strategies.

Joe has experience in working with governmental bodies and administrative entities, and obtaining development approval for many national clients. Those approvals include economic incentives in the form of tax abatement, tax increment financing and other forms of economic development incentives.

Joe has been extremely successful in obtaining real estate tax reductions for major commercial properties, including a $15 million property value reduction for General Electric Aircraft Engines and a $7 million reduction for Procter & Gamble, saving each corporation thousands of dollars annually. He also represents major commercial property owners of several downtown and suburban Cincinnati properties. Joe has provided assistance in numerous zoning cases for McDonald’s, Kroger, United Dairy Farmers, Provident Bank, Fischer Homes, Corporex, Duke Realty, M/I Schottenstein Homes, Five Seasons Country Club and several other development companies.

Joe has a degree in Economics from Xavier University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. In the late 1960s he served as Assistant to the Director of Economic Development of Western Samoa in the United States Peace Corp. Joe serves on numerous civic and charitable boards. He resides in Cincinnati with his wife, Barbara, and their five children.
