KMKC Forms Strategic Alliance with Tom Besanceney and Marketplex, Inc.

Cincinnati, September 26, 2005 - KMK Consulting is pleased to announce that it recently formed a strategic alliance with Tom Besanceney. Tom is associated with KMK Consulting as a Senior Consultant. He is also President of Marketplex Inc., a public relations and marketing firm located in the Scripps Center in downtown Cincinnati.

In 1984, Tom worked with Wendy’s International to craft a successful public relations strategy including pr extensions for the highly successful “Where’s the Beef?” campaign. In forming Marketplex, he took advantage of an early career stint as General Manager of a Sheraton Hotel and later VP of a hotel management company to design and implement public relations driven advertising campaigns for several emerging all-suite hotel chains. Later his firm expanded services to include market feasibility and property evaluation reports along with sales support strategies for medical, hospital, hotel and tourism clients located in eighteen states.

After riots struck the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of downtown Cincinnati, Besanceney donated public relations services to several affected businesses. The next year, he became president of the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce where he instituted a sweeping safety plan, assisted with new development and completed an award winning conference and office facility for the Chamber.

In the early 1970’s Tom returned to his hometown of Piqua, OH. to head the Chamber of Commerce, then to Chambers in Bloomington, IN. (where he started the Convention and Visitors Bureau) and Rock Island, IL. Returning to the Cincinnati area, specifically Covington, KY in 1979, he headed a newly formed economic development non profit that assisted in converting a vacant hospital to luxury condominiums, focused on historic preservation, and assisted with the River Centre development. He was appointed to the Board of the Kentucky Development Finance Authority by Gov. John Y. Brown.

Tom graduated from Xavier University with a BS in Political Science and has served on the Alumni Board. He attended the Graduate School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington DC and the Institute for Organization Management of the US Chamber of Commerce. He is a Board member of Downtown Cincinnati Inc. and serves on the Government Relations Committee of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.

Tom resides in Cincinnati with his wife Molly.
