KMK Consulting Adds Major Economic Development Dealmaker to its Team
Cincinnati, May 14, 2007 - KMK Consulting (KMKC), is pleased to announce a key development official who has been at the helm during record economic growth in West Chester and Mason will join KMK Consulting, a specialized consulting firm owned by Keating, Muething & Klekamp. Jim McGraw, President & CEO of KMKC, is pleased to announce that Melissa Taylor has joined the firm as a senior consultant.
As development director for Mason and most recently West Chester, Taylor worked on projects for global and national business icons such as Procter & Gamble, Mitsubishi, Cintas, Dell, United Healthcare, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, and IKEA.
"Melissa is widely known in Cincinnati Tri-State government and corporate circles as a make-it-happen person." said McGraw. "Her specialty is helping communities, companies and their CEOs make and execute smart decisions about their investment in new projects."
McGraw added that Melissa's 20 years of experience representing both government and business will give KMKC clients the unique advantage of understanding the dynamics on both sides of development deals.
Taylor said it was KMK Consulting's reputation among regional and national clients as a high-performance company that enticed her to leave the exciting and challenging development arena in West Chester.
"KMK Consulting's clients rave about their professionalism and results- they know the business of economic development consulting better than anyone," said Taylor. "KMK Consulting is simply the and absolutely the best there is - and it shows in each and every one of their clients," said former client Robin Ronne, Founding Board Member of Financial Florida.
With Taylor's departure, West Chester has retained KMK Consulting to oversee the completion of major projects underway. In the past week, Amylin Pharmaceuticals announced a $400 million expansion with 500 new jobs and international home furnishings retailer IKEA broke ground on its 339,000 sq.ft. store in West Chester.
At KMKC, Taylor will advise public/private partnership organizations and government clients on attracting new business investment and increasing wealth to support schools and public services. She also will represent companies that are considering new projects in the areas of site evaluation, obtaining business incentives and regulatory compliance.
"In all areas of our consulting firm, Melissa will add significant value for our wide range of national and local clients. From state and regional strategic plans to specific corporate expansion deal closings. Simply put, we could not be more excited about this addition to our team." said Jim McGraw, President & CEO of KMK Consulting.
Prior to leading development initiatives in West Chester and Mason, Taylor coordinated special projects for the City of Cincinnati and worked for the Department of Defense as a government and community affairs strategist in markets in the Southwest and West Coast.
