KMKC Executive Discusses the Importance of Lobbying
Cincinnati, February 19, 2001-KMK Consulting is proud to recognize Vice President Chip Gerhardt for his insight in a recent Cincinnati Enquirer article discussing lobbying activity in the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Tri-State area. As the head of KMKC's Government Affairs Solution Group, Chip leverages his extensive background in the fields of economic development, government affairs and issues advocacy. He has worked in these areas both in the private and public sectors, and on local and statewide levels.
"As a community, we don't pay enough attention to state government issues," said Chip. "Many times, we don't recognize the value of what goes on in Columbus."
Chip, who is also Vice Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party, is registered with the Ohio Legislative Ethics Commission and is representing clients in both lobbying and strategic issue analysis.
Chip added, "The local business community has grown to a point where more lobbyists are needed. For example, many companies don't take advantage of many of the state dollars that are available to them through job-creation credits or other programs," he said.
"I just think the combination we've put together is the right one for the future, where you can offer a broader range of services than just lobbying."
