KMKC Executives Provide Insight on Corporate Governance in The Board Book
Cincinnati, December 1, 2000-KMK Consulting is proud to announce that Mike Burke, Chairman and CEO, and Jim McGraw, Managing Director, have contributed to the success of The Board Book, a major, benchmark-setting guide to building and sustaining effective Boards of Directors which hit the book stores across the U.S. last month.
Drawing from nearly sixty years of working with Boards of Directors, Mike and Jim were a perfect fit for any discussion of effective corporate governance. They have seen first hand what it takes to set a vision, govern a company properly, right a wayward ship, and lead an enterprise to the next level and maximize growth. That is why Board Book author Susan Shultz approached Jim McGraw and KMK Consulting.
Not only did Mike and Jim provide their own insight, but Jim also referred Ms. Shultz to key CEOs across the country and helped recruit a number of these leaders who contributed as well. "Actually, Mike is quoted more often than Warren Buffett, another great contributor to this book," notes Jim McGraw. "We are very proud to be a part of this successful effort."
The response to date has been outstanding with numerous powerful and unsolicited endorsements from the business community, members of government and other media such as Chief Executive Magazine and USA Today. The success of The Board Book has also generated speaking engagements at CEO forums, including the Royal College in London and the American Management Association Executive Forum.
Ann D. McLaughlin, Chairman of The Aspen Institute and Director of American Airlines, GM, Nordstrom and other corporations said: "Susan Shultz has done an incredible job of putting into one book all that anyone needs to know about corporate governance, and she's done so with understanding and objectivity. Peppered with real stories of real companies, directors, and corporate leaders, this is a detailed blueprint for creating a strategic and responsible board."
Ms. Shultz said in a recent letter to Jim McGraw: "I attribute much of The Board Book future success to you."
