ComputED's 6th Annual Education Software Review
Cincinnati, August 28, 2001- KMK Consulting Company is proud to recognize Thinkronize for receiving the EDDIE Award for Best School/District Management Website for its online instructional management portal, digitalbackpack. digitalbackpack Wins Prestigious EDDIE Award in ComputED’s 6th Annual Education Software Review
Cincinnati, Ohio – Thinkronize, Inc., an Internet developer of educational technology tools for educators and students, today announced that digitalbackpack, an online instructional management portal, has been named a 2001 EDDIE Award Winner for Best School/District Management website. Winners are chosen from hundreds of products submitted by software publishers from around the world. Selection is based on academic content, potential for broad classroom use, technical merit, subject approach and quality of management system. How digitalbackpack works
digitalbackpack delivers classroom-specific content like lesson plans, assignments, and homework, from teachers directly to students and their parents, through any computer connected to the Internet, and includes key productivity tools that allow students to create, access and save their schoolwork online. Operating as an application service provider (ASP), digitalbackpack provides school connectivity and essential software including a word processor, spreadsheet and presentation tools, e-mail, calendar and file storage all through a standard Web browser.
Thinkronize Chief Technology Officer, John Laws, emphasizes the benefits ASP technology brings to educators. “By employing the Internet to host software, educational technology professionals can decrease system administration, maintenance and upgrade costs.”digitalbackpack also includes a group calendaring function that enables students and their parents to receive school-related assignments, schedules and information online.

Access to certain digitalbackpack features, including email, games and content can be turned off during school hours. The administrative tools may also be used to create new custom content modules specific to an individual school or district.
