KMKC Retained to Assist in Creation of Rochester Economic Development Organization
Cincinnati, May 23, 2001-KMK Consulting Company (KMKC) is proud to announce that it has been retained to serve as the architect and overall advisor with respect to the creation of a private sector led economic development organization for the Greater Rochester region. The as yet unnamed initiative is a partnership of local business and civic leaders which will work to stimulate job growth and private capital investment in the region.
This organization will be the first of its kind in the Greater Rochester region and will be largely driven by the private sector, with significant focus on sales and marketing. The key objectives will include: the development of a single point of contact to promptly respond to information requests and manage prospect relationships; the design and implementation of internal and external marketing programs to effectively communicate the strengths and advantages of the region and to increase awareness; pro-actively targeting development activities around industry clusters that build competitive advantages and offering opportunities for continued growth and jobs, and; achieving goals for job growth and investment, partly through reducing the public expense of conducting business and more effectively lobbying for state funding.
Thomas S. Richards, Chairman of the partnership and Chairman, President and CEO, Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation, said that "the goal is to make it easy for prospective investors, whether creating new facilities or adding jobs at existing businesses, to get all the help they need in a professional, streamlined fashion. Information about everything including utility and health care costs, tax incentive and financing packages, availability of real estate and arrangements for personal site visits for prospective clients should be coordinated through a single source."
